TEKAD
Project Description
For over ten years, pilot validations of new homecare technologies have been implemented worldwide but have failed to make a significant impact on today's healthcare markets. Nevertheless, the homecare market will inevitably represent a huge core market for the IT-healthcare convergence.
The TEKAD project is based on the skills and reputation of the Kerpape rehabilitation center in Ploemeur- the third largest in France, after the centers located in Garches (near Paris) and Berck (in northern France). The Kerpape Center is located on a 35-hectare site. It has 205 full time hospital beds and 70 day hospital places and hosts 400 people a day. It has developed innovation and research activities at the interface between IT and homecare (robotics, speech synthesis and home automation), in collaboration with research centers throughout Bretagne, France and the rest of Europe.
